Understanding of APA Referencing Style 6th Edition

It is my understanding of APA Referencing Style 6th Edition ...

1.        Generally, the writing format of APA referencing style emphasize on the format of spacing apart that is using double space and the format of line that is using hanging indent format.
2.        The writing format of the authors is not included the authors’ professional title. It only uses the original name with the last name that show up first.
3.        The writing format of the year is in the brackets, and it generally shows up after the authors’ name.
4.        The writing format of the title reference is generally using italics font.
5.        The referencing format quoted from the book needs to mention the authors, year, title of work, publisher and the publish location. It is formatted as the example below:

Dika, R. (2005). Kambing Jantan: Catatan Harian Pelajar Bodoh. Jakarta: Gagas Media.

6.        The referencing format quoted from online resources is almost similar with the referencing format of book, but the publisher and the publish location are not available on referencing format of online resources, so it has to be mentioned the web address as the replacement. It is formatted as the example below:

The Comparison of Research Proposal and Research Plan

DICTATION AS A TESTING TECHNIQUE IN MEASURING THE STUDENTS' LISTENING MASTERY

Ika Ratna Melawanti is a student from Semarang State University who studied about “Dictation as a Testing Technique in Measuring the Students' Listening Mastery”. It is a study case of the fifth grade students of SD Negeri Wonorejo 01 Karanganyar Demak in the academic year of 2006/2007. In that research, she conducted descriptive research design and did two activities: library activity and field activity. In analyzing the data, she used a descriptive qualitative and a simple quantitative measurement to find the result. From the results of the try-out, it was shown that the instrument in this study has good reliability.

As Ika Ratna Melawanti, I am also interested to examine about the use of dictation testing technique in measuring the students' listening mastery. But, my research plan will be a little bit different from hers because I will apply that technique in the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 2 Gorontalo. Certainly I will use the test that is suitable with the students’ condition. In this research plan, I will give the students a dictation test that is explored by some book references. This research aims to find whether effective or not the dictation testing technique in students’ listening mastery.
